Mama’s House provides accessible residential living in North Chesterfield, Virginia, with a focus on comfort, independence, and individualized support. The Brookshire Drive residence is designed to feel welcoming and familiar while providing the structure and assistance individuals may need in their daily lives.
Residents enjoy private bedrooms, a single-level layout, accessible bathrooms, wheelchair ramps, covered or screened outdoor space, comfortable shared living areas, and 24-hour staff support.
Support is tailored to each individual’s needs and may include assistance with personal care, daily routines, meal preparation, household responsibilities, appointments, transportation coordination, recreation, community participation, and skill development.
Meet Tyshawnna
Our Residential House Manager for the Brookshire Residence
Tyshawnna Brown serves as a House Manager at Mama’s House, bringing more than 12 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, dementia, and other high-acuity support needs.
Tyshawnna previously spent five years with Mama’s House, where she worked as a Direct Support Professional and within the Day Support program. During that time, she provided direct care to individuals with complex support needs while also coordinating activities, community outings, and meaningful daily experiences.
Prior to joining Mama’s House, Tyshawnna spent seven years working in assisted living, where she specialized in dementia care and supporting individuals with dual diagnoses.
In addition to her professional experience, Tyshawnna is a proud mother who is deeply passionate about serving others and providing high-quality, person-centered care. She is committed to creating a supportive, respectful, and nurturing environment for the individuals served by Mama’s House and looks forward to working alongside families, staff, and the broader support team.
